The Equestrian Center staff does have a need for volunteer assistance on a daily basis and for special projects and events.

When volunteer projects arise, we can quickly contact you by email! Call the Equestrian Center Office and ask to be placed on our volunteer email database.

Volunteer of the Year, Michelle Frame (left)

Michelle Frame looks at her volunteering with the Jester Park Excpetional Riders as the highlight of her week. She has donated over 220 hours during the 2007 year. This program is dear to her heart for a variety of reasons. Michelle loves the children she assists and looks forward to the high fives and hugs they give her. Michelle plans her week around the time she is needed to volunteer at JPER and advocates for the program by telling people she meets about what we do. Michelle also looks at the program as a source of some rehabilitation for herself. Just a little over five years ago, Michelle had a major stroke and little by little has made progress toward getting back the physical abilities that were hurt by the stroke. Michelle credits the walking and working with the horses, the social interactions with the riders and other voluteers, and finding a place where her skills are needed and appreciated, for helping her with her own path of recovery from the stroke.
